DSHS Social Service Specialist Oncall AfterHours Program
Flexible On-Call Schedules. Apply Today!
The Division of Children and Family Services in Eastern Washington (DSHS Region 1) is seeking high energy Social Service professionals with excellent child welfare assessment skills, willing to work in part time/after hours jobs. We are recruiting for all levels of Social Service Specialist - Social Service Specialist 1, 2, and 3. You would cover calls in your vicinity.
**You can work in jobs located in Spokane, Omak, Moses Lake and Wenatchee, Walla Walla, and Sunnyside.** We are happy to accept applications for other Region 1 (Eastern WA) locations, however contact will be made at a later date when an opening is available.
After-hours staff respond to and investigate reports of abuse and neglect in a timely and efficient manner during the times that the local Division of Children and Family Service offices are closed. Local offices are closed from 5pm to 8am each day, weekends, and all holidays, although the need to assist children still exists. The average number of hours per week is between 10-15 hours, depending on number of days you can work and number of calls received. You are only expected to be on-call if scheduled to work on the calendar that you help create. **There is a lot of flexibility in scheduling that is based on your availability.**
An after-hours job is excellent for those professionals already employed in social services, but wish to supplement their income. This is also a great opportunity for those starting out in social work, to gain experience in the field.
**Here's what we're looking for:**
A Master's or Bachelor's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field.
Additional social service experience could meet qualifications for the Social Service Specialist 2 or Social Service Specialist 3 level.
